Windows XP/ Vista / 7 Wont Start Up

Windows Vista/7 (same solution)

1. Insert your Windows disk (has to be a bootable copy).
2. Make sure your bios is configured to start up from your CD/DVD ROM.
3. Go into the automatic recovery options and choose to use the command prompt.
4. Type the following commands in this order
  • bootrec /fixboot
  • bootrec /fixmbr
5. Remove the disk and restart your computer.

Windows XP

1. Insert your Windows XP disk (bootable copy).
2. Make sure your bios is configured to start up from your CD/DVD ROM.
3. Boot from the CD Rom (may take while).
4. A list of options will appear, select recover windows using recovery console.
5. Depending on how many partitions you have and which drive you installed Windows, select the relevant installation to recover
6. Type the following commands in this order
  • fixboot
  • fixmbr
7. Restart your computer
